Byron Dolan is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) who provides advice to clients in the mining, emerging technologies, and environmental services industries.  Byron spent over a decade in the Rio Tinto Group of companies, including in senior roles in finance, procurement, and major capital project development.  He was also the co-founder of NorHaz Solutions Inc. which is now one of the largest hazardous materials removal and remediation companies in British Columbia.

Arend Hoekstra

Arend Hoekstra

Arend Hoekstra is a partner at the Canadian law firm Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). Arend advises on the development of mining, energy, transmission and infrastructure projects, including the negotiation of project benefit agreements between proponents and Indigenous peoples.  Arend also advises governments on the development of regulations and legislation, including in respect of mining.  Arend has been cited in the debates of the Canadian Senate, and his writings have been considered by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs.

His previous experience includes acting as a Senior Advisor for one of Canada’s largest mines and acting as a controller for a large helicopter services company serving the mineral exploration and mining industry in the NWT.
